Cleanse, Detox & Boost Gut Health Immunity Shots

This Summer we are cleansing, detoxing, and boosting our gut health to stay healthy. This immunity shot uses orange, lemon, ginger, black pepper, turmeric, and apple cider vinegar. Ingredients you most likely have in your kitchen anyway. You will need:

  • 1 orange

  • 1 lemon

  • 1-inch piece of ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 cup of water (room temperature, not iced)

Method

  1. Juice the orange and lemon

  2. Blitz the ginger and add to the juice along with the turmeric, black pepper and ACV

  3. Add turmeric and black pepper

Add to room temperature / warm or hot water depending on how you choose to drink it. This will dilute the mix and also means it lasts longer. Here’s all the benefits of why this is so cleansing:

Orange - High in vitamin C, fibre, and a natural source of folate. It will promote healthy digestion, detoxify, support cell repair, and boost your immune system. Oranges are also great for collagen production, and acts as an antioxidant.

Lemon - Also vitamin C rich, alkalises to balance your PH levels, boosts digestion and contains flavonoids with anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger - Reduces inflammation, helps with nausea, aids digestion and supports better gut health. It also can protect against oxidative stress and strengthens your immune system.

Black pepper - Always use this if you’re adding turmeric to anything as it increases the absorption of curcumin. Great for digestion by stimulating the production of digestive enzymes and promotes intestinal health.

Turmeric - Curcumin found within turmeric is anti-inflammatory with antioxidant properties. It detoxifies, is great for optimal liver function and soothes your digestive tract.

Apple cider vinegar - Improves digestion by enhancing the production of stomach acid meaning you’ll absorb nutrients more easily. It also balances PH levels so you have a healthy gut, and it has probiotics to support the good bacteria in your gut meaning overall better digestion.

Get this in your weekly routine and let me know how you get on!
